The large-scale exposition on Krymsky Val Street is a continuation of two countries’ International project which was launched in the “Zakhenta” National Gallery, Warsaw, in November, 2004.
More than 400 works are on view in the Tretyakov Gallery. It is rich in paintings, sculptures, graphic arts, photos, films and video from modern to post-modernism. Moscow variant of the exposition consists of several parts which acquaint spectators with trends and styles of art of the two countries. The first one is devoted to the Russian modern and Polish secession — styles which unite artists from two countries of the beginning of the last century. The dialogue of two cultures is shown in the video devoted to the creative work of the genius dancer Vaclav Nijinsky — the star of Russian seasons of Sergei Diaghilev in Paris. Such significant person as Kazimir Malevich who unites innovatory art of the two countries is represented in “Cube-futurism and advance guard” section.
The second part of the XX century starts with the postwar abstraction. Then new trends and styles of artists of two countries are shown in the exposition.
Масштабная экспозиция в здании на Крымском валу — продолжение международного выставочного проекта двух стран, который был открыт в Варшаве в ноябре 2004 года в Национальной галерее «Захента».
В экспозиции Третьяковской галереи представлено около 400 произведений: живопись, скульптура, графика, фото, кино и видео — от модерна до постмодернизма. Московский вариант экспозиции состоит из нескольких разделов, рассказывающих о художественных тенденциях, стилях и направлениях в искусстве двух стран. Первый из них посвящен русскому модерну и польскому сецессиону — направлениям, объединявшим художников двух стран, работавших в начале прошлого века. Диалог двух культур открывает видеосюжет о творчестве гениального танцовщика Вацлава Нижинского, звезды Русских сезонов Сергея Дягилева в Париже. В разделах «Кубофутуризм и авангард» знаковая фигура, объединяющая новаторское искусство двух стран, — Казимир Малевич.
Вторая половина XX века начинается с искусства послевоенной абстракции. Затем экспозиция показывает новые направления и стили, в которых работают художники двух стран.
